DONATIONS

Donations can be made through

FAJR Scientific
6206 Cibola Park Ln, suite 100,
Houston, TX 77041

Unless you donate to a specific cause (e.g., via the link to donate to infectious disease medications for Gaza – i.e., “restricted funds”), donated proceeds are considered unrestricted funds and will go to funding FAJR’s operations, including medical missions in high-risk territories.  FAJR’s current missions are focused on Gaza and the West Bank.

Typical expenses include but are not limited to the purchase of high quality professional grade medical supplies, equipment, and medications, transportation and accommodations for the volunteer team.

Yes.  As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization any donations are tax-deductible.

  • FAJR is proud to maintain less than 2% overhead costs, meaning 98% of your donation goes to FAJR’s mission-critical work.

VOLUNTEERS

You may apply to volunteer with FAJR for both medical and non-medical opportunities.  Please see our website at https://fajr.org/volunteer/ for more information.  Resumes can be sent to applicants@fajr.org.

  • All FAJR doctors work on a volunteer basis.
  • No.  All funds raised by the individual campaigns are considered FAJR fundraising and are transmitted to FAJR accounts.  Unless the specific fundraising initiative is dedicated to a certain cause (i.e., restricted) the funds raised will be considered unrestricted.  Please see Donation FAQs for more information.

MEDICAL SUPPLIES

Both.  Certain high-end supplies required for specific missions related to complex surgeries are mainly purchased by FAJR (power tools, instrument sets, screws, etc.) but may be donated.  General medical supplies (gowns, gloves, etc.) are usually purchased at cost or a discounted rate through a partner or third-party.

Yes.  In addition to bringing in medical supplies and equipment for on the ground medical missions, FAJR contributes to donating medical supplies locally.

  • Getting medical supplies into Gaza has been recently challenging due to the unpredictable nature of changing prohibitions.  Despite the challenges and time delays, from April 2024 to mid-August 2024, FAJR has successfully delivered over 70 pallets of medical and surgical supplies into Gaza.

PARTNERSHIPS, THIRD PARTIES, & MORE

FAJR has partnered with several humanitarian organizations in connection with its medical missions and related services, including the World Health Organization (WHO), Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF), Giving Games, Project Cure, Pious Projects, Blessings International, Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), Egypt Red Crescent Society (ERC), and more.

Prospective partners may reach out to FAJR at info@fajr.org

  • FAJR is not an agency or instrumentality of any government and is a standalone, privately-owned, non-profit organization.  Like all other humanitarian organizations operating in Gaza, FAJR’s work must be permitted by local authorities, and entry into Gaza is controlled.  FAJR’s medical missions are coordinated through the WHO.  In getting medical organizations necessary approvals and access to Gaza, the WHO coordinates with various governments and counterparties.  The WHO manages the entry and exit of medical workers to/from Gaza with local authorities, the Israeli government, and relevant embassies.  Medical supply delivery is coordinated by ERC, JHCO, Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), WHO, the United Nations (UN), and any other non-governmental agencies selected to facilitate the entry of supplies into Gaza.

MEDICAL EVACUATIONS

It is FAJR’s imperative to provide all avenues of care on the ground where the injured are being cared for within their community and with the support of their family.  In extreme cases where there is limited local expertise or resources in treating a patient with multi-organ system injuries and all other options have been considered, it may be necessary to evacuate the injured patient to facilities that can support their care and rehabilitation.  FAJR will consider such evacuations on a case-by-case basis.

While FAJR may submit a specific patient and their companion(s) for exit approval and otherwise plan and prepare for their transportation, hosting facility logistics, and treatment/care in the host country, it is ultimately up to the Israeli government and respective regional governments involved to approve of the exit of a patient and their companion(s).  In many cases, a patient can be approved but a companion rejected, which will require a revisiting of companion options.

REGULATORY COMPLIANCE & ETHICS

FAJR is working to publish its financial reports on a periodic basis.  FAJR expects its 2023-2024 financial report to be published by Q3 2024.

As a U.S. nonprofit, FAJR is required to abide by U.S. economic sanctions restrictions and other laws, rules, and regulations surrounding anti-terrorism financing and anti-money laundering.  FAJR has implemented a financial crimes compliance policy that includes anti-money laundering, anti-bribery and anti-corruption, and U.S. economic sanctions procedures.
