The MedEvac Program

Not just numbers — lives restored, dignity preserved, and hope rebuilt.

Medical evacuation flight carrying patients from Gaza

Flagship program

Evacuating the critically injured to lifesaving care

The FAJR MedEvac initiative is a flagship, lifesaving program that evacuates critically injured patients — most of them children — out of Gaza to receive the urgent surgical and rehabilitative care that the territory’s collapsing health system can no longer provide.

With hospitals damaged, specialists displaced, and supplies exhausted, evacuation is the only path to recovery for the most severely wounded. FAJR Global manages that journey end to end — identifying patients, coordinating their evacuation, funding every stage of treatment, and sustaining each patient and their family abroad until recovery is complete. Ninety-two children have reached care through the program.

How MedEvac works

Five steps, one child at a time

Step 1

Identify

Critically injured patients in Gaza are assessed and prioritised for evacuation. FAJR works with medical partners on the ground to evaluate each case, confirm eligibility, and rank by urgency.

Step 2

Evacuation

A coordinated medical evacuation carries each patient and a family companion to specialist care abroad. FAJR manages logistics, travel documentation, border clearance, and medical transfer in full.

Step 3

Treat

Staged surgery and inpatient care are delivered in partner hospitals. FAJR funds every procedure, follow-up consultation, medication, and medical consumable for as long as treatment requires.

Step 4

Rehabilitate

Physiotherapy, prosthetics, and psychological support rebuild function and confidence. FAJR covers every session and device, from first fitting to final discharge, ensuring no patient is discharged prematurely.

Step 5

Sustain & reintegrate

Housing, meals, and living support hold patient and family together throughout the stay. FAJR funds accommodation and daily essentials so families can focus entirely on recovery, not survival.

The children behind the numbers

Each of these children was evacuated from Gaza through the MedEvac program to receive the care that could no longer reach them at home.

One story

Mariam’s journey from Gaza to the United Kingdom

Mariam lost her arm in an attack on Gaza. After a United States visa was refused, FAJR Global and Project Pure Hope worked through the referrals, paperwork and logistics until she reached a hospital in the United Kingdom. Her arrival was covered by The Guardian and The Independent — but the work behind it is the same work FAJR does for every child on the evacuation list.
