First ACL Reconstruction Completed By The Al-Shifa Medical Team

Take a look back at Gaza in August of 2023 when, for the very first time, the medical team at Shifa Hospital, led by Dr. Adnan Al-Bursh, successfully carried out an ACL reconstruction surgery independently. This accomplishment is thanks to the guidance of FAJR during our inaugural orthopedic mission where Dr. Hussein Elkousy, one of FAJR’s many orthopedic surgeons, trained the Gaza medical team, providing them with the skills needed to carry out an ACL reconstruction surgery. Moments like these are what keep the FAJR force going. We continue to seek opportunities to support resource-constrained countries across the globe, making a difference one person at a time.
