Gaza, Palestine — January 2025
In early January of this year, after a young girl was brought to the hospital with a severed limb, Dr. Tahir discovered that the missing arm was still trapped beneath the rubble. He immediately requested its recovery and had it transported to Al-Aqsa Martyrs hospital for surgery. Dr. Tahir, a FAJR surgeon who’s regarded as a hero in Gaza, performed a five-hour operation and was able to successfully reattach the girl’s arm, later reassuring his patient that her limb was no longer lost. This instance marks a significant accomplishment of FAJR and demonstrates our one-of-a-kind expertise, managing to reattach the severed limb of a patient under the constraints perpetuated by war.
