In the first week of September 2024, an airstrike destroyed the lives of the Younis family. The family immediately lost their home and six-year-old son Hossam. They later lost beloved wife and mother Islam, as she succumbed to a blood infection awaiting evacuation. Ahmed was able to leave Gaza on November 13th with his three children, Salam (8), Elia (4), and Yaman (2). Both girls suffer from 2nd-4th degree burns and Elia has had her right foot and four fingers on her right hand amputated. They are currently in Jordan being cared for by the specialty hospital and we hope to welcome them to our Houston, TX community very soon. They arrived in Jordan with only the clothes on their backs, so please help us support Ahmed and his children as they work to heal and rebuild their lives.
The donated funds will be used to cover the expenses of the different evacuated families both medical and non-medical including logistical expenses.

In September 2024, the Younis family faced unimaginable tragedy when an airstrike hit their home, claiming the lives of Ahmed's son Hossam, his mother, and several extended family members. Ahmed’s wife, Islam, and two children, Salam and Elia, suffered severe burns, while Ahmed and his youngest son, Yaman, sustained minor injuries. Tragically, Islam passed away from a blood infection after being denied evacuation for medical treatment, leaving Ahmed as the sole parent to his three surviving children.
Elia, who endured multiple amputations due to infections, fought for her life during a long journey to receive care outside Gaza. The family, stripped of their belongings by authorities at the border, carried only the clothes on their backs and essential documents. They were eventually evacuated to Jordan and are now on their way to Houston, Texas, for long-term medical treatment and to rebuild their lives.
Ahmed remains a devoted father, advocating tirelessly for his children, who are still recovering physically and emotionally. This page has been created to share their story and provide a trusted way to support them as they heal and begin anew. All donations will help with housing, clothing, food, and other essentials as they transition to life in the U.S. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
